In The Air Again

In The Air Again
In The Air Again

I am off travelling again. This morning, it was a very early start to get to Heathrow so I could catch a flight to Oslo. To give myself extra time for security, I arrived at 5 a.m., only to find check-in wasn’t open until 5.20am. Then a nice queue at security and a plane ride to get me here. I am now too exhausted to enjoy the lovely evening. Still, I hope I can get a decent night’s sleep so that I will be awake for tomorrow’s meetings!

Oslo Doesn’t Look Like This For Me

Still in Oslo and, clearly, not in the right part (or perhaps I should be here at a different time of year). I do love this city, and I’ve always stayed at great hotels here, including the Scandic Edderkoppen where I am now. If you’ve never been, get yourself across to Norway at some point – it’s a beautiful country. Shame I have to leave today (such a short trip), but check out this photo set for more great views of this city.

Oslo Again

In Oslo again

Travelling again. It’s not that much fun, but at least today I am heading off to Oslo, Norway, at a reasonable hour. I decided to take the Heathrow Express for once – it’s more expensive, but it is fast to the airport. The whole procedure today was quick, and I have arrived at a hotel I have never been to before, and right now, it’s very noisy outside. I hope they shut up before the night is out.

UPDATE 24th August: No, they didn’t shut up all night, and the noise outside the hotel went on until about 4 in the morning, so I am not very happy today!

Snow is Oslo?

It may be Thanksgiving Day for some of my colleagues but some of us are still working. I am, however, lucky enough to be in Oslo. I flew in last night (hence all the reading of Attitude in the hotel). It was dark when I arrived but there was an unmistakable hint of snow on the ground at the airport. Considering all the trips I make to this part of the world, I have been a little disappointed that I have never seen a great deal of snow here. I was particularly saddened that there was no snow in Helsinki recently. Alas, by the time I made the centre of Oslo there was nothing to be seen.
